Dear Populace,

We need more meat… I mean, people. We need to grow. And by grow, I mean in numbers and in not in girth.

So, what do we do? How do we meet new people and get them to our park? Do we say, “Ugggg, Amtgard” and then club them and drag them to the park? Some of you might be answering, “yes”, but the answer is “no.”

When you are at school, at work, or out and about, and you see an interesting human, think about starting a conversation. A simple, “Hey” or “Hello” is usually a good start.

Try asking the person about his or her interests. “Do you like table top role playing?” “Do you like acting?” “Do you like sports?” “Do you like beating people up with foam padded weapons?” “Do you like dressing up?” “Are you into weird and funny people?”

Don’t try asking the questions in tandem, but sprinkle them into your conversation. Try saving the dress up question for the end, because it tends to freak people out if you ask that question early.

Anyway, after you get them interested, invite them to the park. Make an appointment to meet them.

Please bring me more meat… I mean people. I have plans for them. Thanks for your help.
