as a side note this is the "Fighter Practice" thread keep your bs rabble out of here, take it to aim, take it to email, take it to PM's, make a separate thread that says Marcil sucks for all I care.

As a side note fighter practice was not canceled and considering you Marcil did not want the position GM of Warriors I'm not sure how you can expect to have authority on when fighter practice is. Since I was the only person with fighter credits that was willing to do it I got the position by default. However if anyone wants to have an election there is an all-thing Saturday and I'd be happy to announce an election for GM.

I have most of the people who show up to fighter practices numbers and vice versa, in the future if you believe fighter practice is canceled give me a call and I'll be happy to let you know whats going on (I typically sleep in on Thursdays but will return all calls when I wake up). As for being canceled due to weather there is a park 2 or so blocks east of the one we normally fight at that has an awning over a very large concrete area, leg on death would probably be required but practice would still be doable.

If people would like fighter practice to start earlier let me know (or let whoever wins the election Saturday know) I don't work Thursday's and it's summer break so most of the younger crowd doesn't have school.

That's a retarded idea that has been shot down a plethora of times in the past. There is nothing stopping you from using arrows or there being a battlegame at fighter practice. The issue is that there are not typically enough people there who would want to do such a thing.

If you get 16 people at fighter practice, and they all randomly want to have a battlegame, then you are free to have a battlgame. It is still going to be "Fighter Practice", though, unless Tiwaz changes the name for some reason.

We typically max out with about 6 people on a very good week at fighter practice. If we had more than 3-4 people then I could organize something a bit better than sparing and ditching. If you want to practice bow and arrow set up a target in your back yard, same goes for spell balls. Most of the time archers/scouts hit people while they're distracted and thus typically not moving. Anyone interested in talking about things can come tomorrow and we can all brainstorm.

I agree 100%, however if you look up how to become a better sword fighter it says to practice every day using a Pell. Obviously fighting a real moving person is better, however until you're at a point where you can land a shot every time on a stationary target you still need practice with one. Most of the guides I've seen on fighting in general be it martial art or swordplay tell people to throw at least 100 shots a day. This translates very well into archery, shoot your bow at least 100 times a day every day until you're good enough you can hit your mark every shot. start the target at say 20 feet and move out further and further as you get better and better. Every Saturday we sit around for a good hour or two before an actual battle game gets rolling use that time to practice shooting noobs, its good for both of you.

why would I? however you can practice throwing in your back yard too.

The point is when I go to fighter practice I want to fight and if you've ever even remotely hung around me you know that means I don't want to run around (i.e. chase down an archer, run down a pole) I go to fighter practice to try out new combo's, work on my footwork and practice shots.

If you want to set up an archer practice or scout practice or whatever that would be awesome especially for Grellen. I doubt theres a GM of scouts at the moment mention you want the position and you'll be running scout practice...you could run it just before fighter practice. Perhaps you could talk to Alucard about getting 1/4 credit. I don't see why warriors are the only class that get a practice and I'd definitely vote to allow other class options for the 1/4 credit. People who play barbarian that show up fighter practice should be able to get credits...so should anti/pali's.

Again, the practice would be for shooting. You could call it "scout practice" or you could call it "archer practice" or anything you wanted if you are running it. You could even call it "shooting practice" if you wanted.

i think that a shooting practice would be good and if we could get some more people going to fighter practice/shooting/archer/scout practice we could offer more than 1/4 credit like 1/2

like more than 10 people everyone get 1/2, 20 3/4, 30 1 credit
